Black women are seen as nurturers, givers, and healers. Many of us are taught that any form of choosing our selves many times is an act of selfishness. Let me tell you this my love, you’ve heard this before - you can’t pour into anyone from an empty vessel.

How your vessel is refilled is really based on the ways that your pour back into yourself. Yes, people can pour back into us - but I believe that how we love ourselves is how we set the standard for the love that we require from others.

When you find yourself along the journey of spiritual growth and enlightenment - you begin to dismantle your emotions event by event in search of the root. The goal? Liberation, extended grace/forgiveness to self, and lessons learned.

Let’s go deeper.

Your spirit will always tap you on the shoulder when you begin to lose yourself. That is the importance of mindfulness. You gotta find your zen…and maintain it unconditionally. You owe it to yourself to not allow just any and everything to cause you to be reactive.
